It is a four member group formed by Jonny buckland and chris martin in 1996 when they were in University college London. Initially the group name was Pectoralz but later changed it to coldplay in 1998.
Chris Martin is the lead vocalist and face of the group, Jonny Buckland is the lead guitarist of the group, Guy Berryman is the lead bassist and will Champion is the drummer of the group. Phil Harvey is considered as the fifth member, who is actually the manager of the group.
Their song Yellow brought them the world recognition and even got nominated for grammy Award. Album Mercury got them nominated for the Mercury prize. Their album A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002) won them NME’s Album of the Year. They have won More than 100 most prestigious awards and the band popularity is worldwide.
