Oh baby is a fun Telugu Comedy, fantasy movie produced by D. Suresh Babu, Sunitha Tati, T.G.Vishwa Prasad, Hyunwoo Thomas Kim. This film is remake of South Korean hit film Miss Granny, where a 70 old woman turn in to a 24 year old girl after being photographed.
Movie is directed and written by B. V. Nandini Reddy . This movie is Produced under the banner of Suresh Productions. Film is edited by Junaid Siddiqui and Background score is given by Mickey J Meyer.
Samantha Akkineni, Naga Shaurya, Laxmi Narayan and Rajendra Prasad are in lead roles.
Film revolves around the story of a 70 year old woman Savitri aka Baby played by Laxmi. She is a cranky old woman who runs a canteen at a college campus. She has the habit of constantly nagging others especially her daughter in law which even causes her daughter-in-law to suffer a heart attack.
She has a childhood dream of becoming a singer but she got married at very young age. Her Husband died at a war leaving her with a child played by Rao Ramesh who becomes a professor. She has a friend Chanti played by Rajendra Prasad who stands by her all the time and plays the most comic character of the film.
Her Grandson Rocky (Teja Sajja) wanted to become a musician. She supports him and also punishes him for smoking.
No one wants to be around baby. She is not evil but full of regrets and dissatisfied with her life.
A few turn of events change her life when she enters in a studio and while being photographed, her life changes with a flash of light. She turns into a 24 year old beautiful girl played by Samantha. Though she is very attractive but still cranky inside. It changes everything, she sees it as an opportunity to fulfill her long lost dreams.
She introduces herself as swathi as she cannot reveal her secret.
Her new Life still revolves around her family. She lives as a tenant in the Chanti’s house which will surely set you on laughter.
A young handsome man named Viram played by Naga Shaurya fall in love with her.
What really tickles is the samantha performance as the old lady behaves like a young woman but still old at heart. There are few funny moments where Savitri look at her son after the transformation for the first time and rushes to him with open arms only to realise that she is a different lady.
These moment will definitely kick your funny bone.
Initial 30 moments are very engaging and sets the main introduction for the film. You will definitely enjoy the first half but second half is melodramatic which portrays more of a family drama.
Director B. V. Nandini Reddy has surely done an amazing piece of work. Background score is also fantastic. All the actors have really did their best especially samantha.
Rajendra prasad and Rao ramesh are hilarious in their Acts.
Though the film was way too long and few of the scenes were not required.
This Film accentuate society’s indifference to the Elderly people desires and the possibilities of life.
It is a must watch Film
